The Winnipeg Jets and Tampa Bay Lightning will be the two teams facing off for the first time in a series between two of the best teams in the NHL.
The Jets will host the Lightning in Game 3 of their Eastern Conference Quarterfinal series at Xcel Energy Center on Wednesday, May 12, and will take on the Lightning for Game 4 at Amalie Arena on Saturday, May 14.
The Lightning will also host the Jets on Friday, May 15, and the series finale will be held on Saturday afternoon at Amalanie Arena.
The series is set to start at 8:30 p.m.
EDT (1130 GMT).
The Jets are coming off a 4-1 win in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Final Series, and they will look to extend their best start to a season with a win against the Lightning.
In Game 1, Winnipeg had a 1-0 lead in the first period, but they couldn’t get anything going on the power play.
In the third period, the Jets were able to convert on their power play with a goal by Mark Scheifele, but a late turnover on the PK kept the Lightning off the scoreboard.
The teams are both coming off their second straight games against teams that finished with at least 20 points in the regular season, and that will surely be an advantage for the Jets.
The Lightning won four straight games in the series, including a 6-1 record.
The Jets won four consecutive games against the Panthers, but lost a 2-1 series to the Flyers.
The game will also be the first game of a three-game series between the Jets and Lightning.
The teams play at 7:30 pm EDT (1600 GMT) on Friday and Saturday.
Both teams have been on the road in the playoffs for a while, but the series will be played in Winnipeg, as the Jets have won four of their past five playoff games at home.
In all, the Lightning have won the past three games at MTS Centre.
The two teams are tied for the second most wins in the Eastern conference, trailing only the Boston Bruins.
The Tampa Bay Thunderbirds and New York Islanders both have five wins in their past six games.
